Yay! We did it!! We’ve finally arrived in the new year of 2020 and you know what that means: time for a New Year’s resolution.
Honestly, I don’t really believe in making New Years’ resolutions because they never last. Some people set a New Years’ resolution to lose weight at the start of the year and forget about it by Valentine’s Day. Because I have done this before, I can humbly admit to being one of those “some people”.
Instead of setting a New Year’s resolution, opt to create a vision board, volunteer your time, or learn a new skill.

Create a Vision Board
A vision board is basically a collection of images and words on a board or poster that inspires you and gives you the freedom to design your life the way you want. It’s also known as a dream board of things that you want to manifest into reality. You can also use a vision board to set goals for yourself. The tools needed to create a vision board include a corkboard or blank poster board, magazines with words/images that speak to you, and glue. Creating a vision board is actually a really fun activity similar to arts & crafts that you can do with a group of friends or by yourself.
Volunteer
Another way to start the year off right is to help those in need. And I don’t mean to help people and then film your good deeds on social media for clout. Volunteering your time to help others is a great way to bring fulfillment and joy to your life. You can also relieve stress, increase self-confidence, and meet new people through volunteering. Additionally, volunteering helps you find your sense of purpose and keeps your mind off of your worries.
Learn a New Skill
Although the year 2019 was a hot mess, you can kick off the new year by learning a new skill. Whether it’s learning self-defense to keep the bad guys away or earning a specialized certificate to rise higher in your job, the new year is the perfect time to do that. Learning a new skill increases your learning speed, improves your performance and adaptability to change, fights off boredom, and makes you a very well-rounded person.
What are your plans for this New Year?
Please let us know how you plan to kick off the New Year in the comments below.
Excellent. It is always good to create a vision board. Still working on mine..but I have a mental picture that I’m working with for now. The only thing is 2020 switch on us out of nowhere. I will never forget it. The only thing is it has given me more time to work on my blogging as I work full time. So I’m using up all this time to make something happen.
yes, 2020 really shifted a lot of things for us. At the beginning of this year, I bought a planner that would keep me on track for my blogging journey but after everything happened so far this year, it just made the planner inconsistent as I had to figure out how to work from home with my job. Now, I also feel like I’m back to making things happen again, but at my own pace. We will get through this together. 💕💕💕
