To find products where the quality doesn’t suffer and the items are cheaply priced, is like striking gold. Whenever I find a good bargain at my local store, you can bet it’s gonna be a good day.
If I can do this all in one day and find some great self-care products that take care of me, it’s a win-win all around.
That is why I’ve carefully compiled — and am very excited to share with you! — some of my favorite drugstore self-care products for skincare, haircare, body care?, hygiene care, and other self-care necessities.
I think you’ll want to add some of these items to your self-care routine. Heck, you might even have some of these products already!
Down below, you can surely bet that I’m going to be fully transparent as possible so that you can have a fair assessment about these items.
So here goes nothing lol.
Dove Deep Moisture Body Wash
No lie though — this body wash is everything!
It’s super creamy, it doesn’t have an obnoxious smell, and it makes you feel super moisturized when you put it on in the shower and when you get out of the shower.
You know how some soaps give you that squeaky, slick feeling you can’t get rid of? Or how about those dull soap bars that make you want to cover up with lotion right after showering?
Well, this Dove deep moisturizer wash gives you the opposite feeling.
This body wash cleanses below the skin’s surface and leaves your skin feeling soft and nourished.
Annnndd did I forget to mention, it’s fragrance-free?!
I, personally, am not a fan of certain body washes that smell while showering. I don’t know why — it’s just not a pleasant showering experience when the smells are overwhelming in the shower.
But if you like a fragrance smell to your body washes, Dove does offer other washes that have scents in them like these ones here.
Dove Spray Deodorant
My relationship with deodorant has always been up and down. I think I find a good deodorant and then I get disappointed. When I was young, I used to use the powder deodorant like all the time and then the powder would leave an obnoxious stain on my clothes. Orrrr there would be times when the powder block in the deodorant would just randomly plop! the! heck! off!
Like really?!
And boy don’t get me started on my struggle with invisible solid deodorant. That twist thing at the bottom that pushes the liquid up, would get stuck and no liquid would come out for me to rub against my desperate armpits. And boy, was I desperate.
Then that holy day came (finally!) when I found out about spray deodorant. It was an awakening moment for me. Like where has this been all my life!
Seriously, I don’t know why it took so long for spray deodorant to be invented. I don’t have to worry about no sticky residue being left behind.
Like, I literally don’t feel the spray when it’s on and this one is fragrance-free which I love.
This dove spray deodorant gives you a sheer fresh finish, it’s an antiperspirant, it gives you 48 hours of wear, has no irritants, and there are no white marks left behind. Hallelujah!
Caress Exfoliating Body Wash
During my freshman year of college, this body wash was the holy grail for me.
Funny thing is, I initially bought it by accident when I couldn’t find another wash I came in the store to buy.
And as you can imagine, I am very, very picky with scents, so it came to my surprise when this scent totally won me over! Dude, this literally smells amazing!
Inside the wash, there are exfoliating beads that make you feel very relaxed, exfoliated, and super clean. Almost like a body scrub type of feel if you catch my drift.
Now in the link above, it is advertised as a 2 pack deal for this item but I just want to show you exactly what I used in college because now I hear that the brand has newly repackaged their bottle and I have no idea nor have I tried this new one with the swirly picture on it. So beware if it smells or feels weird than the one I’m familiar with.
Softsoap Luminous Oils Moisturizing Body Wash
Omg, I’m literally smiling as I’m typing this. I have a secret love for this wash. Lol I know I’m weird but I can’t even explain how it makes me feel.
Like it’s super light and doesn’t have a creamy or a thick-like sticky consistency to it at all. You know how some oils (*cough* olive oil, *cough* castor oil *cough*) have that thick greasy feel? Although this is made with real macadamia oil, it is not greasy at all.
I think the Amazon link hit it right on the head when it says that it retains the skin’s natural moisture and leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth. Because I definitely feel that after showering with it.
And the smell on this one! Man, I just can’t. It gets me every time. I usually hate flowery scents in the bath but this one is not overbearing at all. My nose doesn’t mind it.
Please keep in mind that the Softsoap body wash link above leads to a pack of 4 20 fl oz wash bottles.
Dianne Denman Styling Brush
On long wash days, this denman brush paired up with my deep conditioner in my hair is my saving grace lol. I have been using this brush only for deep conditioning wash days for two years now and it is still going strong.
It makes wash days such a breeze for me and the handle on this brush does not hurt my hand when I glide it through my very coarse 4C hair — especially when water is involved. I’m looking to replace it soon with a new denman brush but it’s still going strong. I think I’ll just use it til the wheels fall off lol.
Garnier Whole Blends Conditioner, Coconut Water & Vanilla Milk Extracts
Because my hair is so thick and hard to manage at times, one thing it needs is hydration. After shampooing my hair, my go-to product is this intense hydrating conditioner that has a blend of coconut water and vanilla milk.
Though the smell is a turn off for me, the mixture leaves my hair feeling super soft and manageable to work with. It has a light-weight feel, it’s very moisturizing, and is paraben-free.
Next up is the Creme of Nature Products:
Creme of Nature Moisture & Shine Shampoo
This hands down is the best shampoo I have ever used on my very coarse 4C hair! It also smells amazing! Almost like cookies or something sugary! And it provides so much moisture that makes the detangling process so easy for me. It also provides a good slip that allows me to run my fingers through my hair.
Other benefits of this shampoo are that it’s sulfate-free, it’s safe on all hair types (coarse, coily, dry, damaged), it prevents breakage and it provides moisture for a healthy scalp.
Creme of Nature Strength & Shine Leave-In Conditioner
This leave-in conditioner works wonders to restore moisture back into my hair when it gets dry. Along with the smell, I like that it adds a liquid shine to my hair and improves the hair strength as I comb through my hair.
Clean & Clear Products:
Clean & Clear Oil-Free Deep Action Cream Facial Cleanser
Whenever I purchase a good facial cleanser, I want it to do all of the things lol. I want it to clear my skin, keep the pimples at bay, and make my skin smooth like a baby’s bottom.
This facial cleanser does and did just that while I was in college. It cut deep into my pores and cleared up a lot of dirt that was under the layers of my skin. It also has this really nice cooling and tingling feeling that lets you know that it’s actually working. It keeps the skin clean & clear (see what I did there? — Lol let me stop) and it reaches all areas of the face-skin layers. Another plus is that it’s oil-free and won’t clog up your pores.
Clean & Clear Deep Cleaning Toner
This toner is one of my favorite toners! ever! After washing your face with a cleanser, with the combination of a cotton round and this toner to clean your skin, you will be shocked at how much dirt still exists and did not get picked up from the facial cleanser. This stuff knows how to work its magic.
It’s an oil-free deep cleansing toner that helps to treat and prevent pimples. Word to the wise about this toner and the deep action cream facial cleanser, they both have salicylic acid in it. Another great thing about this toner is that it’s also perfect for sensitive skin!
Cotton Rounds
If you pick up any face cleaning toner, I think you may have to pick up some cotton rounds to go with it. The cotton rounds allow for easy transfer of the toner to properly remove the dirt from your skin.
Cotton rounds are just awesome! They’re also great at removing eye make-up and pick up extra residue that the makeup wipes may have missed.
Above is a link to a 300 count cotton round for the face. They are hypoallergenic, lint-free, soft and 100% real cotton.
Aveeno Clear Complexion Products:
Aveeno Clear Complexion Cream Facial Cleanser
When it comes to this cream facial cleanser, there’s not much to complain about really. It has a nice creamy consistency to it. Sadly, it doesn’t tingle or have any exfoliating beads in it. It has a subtle soy-oat? smell to it which doesn’t bug me much and it leaves my skin feeling soft and supple.
The facial cleanser contains salicylic acid with soy extract to fight away and treat breakouts. It also evens your skin tone and it’s hypoallergenic and oil-free.
Aveeno Clear Complexion Daily Facial Cleansing Pads
These facial pads are my go-to after wiping off my makeup. The pads are dual-textured so they have a smooth side to lift up the dirt, oil and makeup from your face. Then, on the other side is textured so that it can gently exfoliate the skin.
When you use the facial pads, it creates this foaming effect so that you can see which areas it’s working on. On the facial pads, you can also see the dirt it’s picking up! It’s a salicylic acid acne treatment that helps to fight off acne, clear blemishes and prevent future breakouts without over-drying. It’s also very gentle on sensitive skin!
Aveeno Clear Complexion Daily Moisturizer
This is the final step in my facial care routine every morning. After cleansing and toning my face, I use this daily moisturizer to bring in and keep the moisture on my face.
The product is a bit on the pricey side for the size of the bottle, but trust me when I say that there is a lot of product in that bottle to last for a very long time.
This 4-fluid ounce moisturizer contains salicylic acid to help clear existing blemishes and helps to prevent future breakouts. The total soy complex in the moisturizer helps to improve the overall health of your complexion by evening the skin tone and the texture of your skin. It makes the skin feel soft and smooth.

Olay Products:
Olay Regenerist Regenerating Cream Face Cleanser
Currently, I am trying these Olay products to see how they compare with the Aveeno Products I already love so much. I like trying new skincare products to see which product works best for me and which will be a staple in my skin-care routine forever.
So far I’ve been using olay products for a little over a month now and I can say that I am okay? with the effects that it gives to my skin.
Lol it might be unfair and a little biased that I love the Aveeno products so much and have been using them for a very long time (more than 2 years). So for me to move on to something new and try it for my skin is a little challenging. But I want to see if the Olay products live up to the hype that I have been seeing on YouTube.
The facial cream cleanser is not my favorite out of all of the facial cleansers (Aveeno, Clean & Clear) I’ve tried in the past but it’s a close second or more like third lol. When I put it on, it just doesn’t give me all of the feels I get from the other two but it’s okay. I feel like this cleanser is more of an anti-aging cleanser that smooths the skin and the other two cleansers are more of a clearing of the skin from breakouts type.
This anti-aging cleanser has a creamy texture that cleanses and preps the skin for the next skincare product in your routine. It works with all different skin types (normal, dry, oily, combination) to smooth the skin from the surface and accelerate the skin’s natural surface regeneration. It also aids in cleaning and improving the skin’s texture with advanced anti-aging ingredients.
Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream
After using a facial toner, I go in with this Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream. One thing I love about this is how it feels and makes my skin feel once it touches my face. It is not at all sticky but feels silky smooth and rides on like butter.
This product is also on the pricey side but using a little of it goes a long way. Be careful not to put too much on or else you will notice it on your skin all day.
The one thing that’s a turn off for me is the smell of this product. I personally don’t like it at all but my nose is getting used to it, slowly lol. I wish I purchased the fragrance-free smell of this cream instead.
This daily face moisturizer deeply hydrates and visibly firms your skin for a more lifted look. Another thing I’ll say about this is that my skin does look a lot younger and more youthful after incorporating this into my routine. I noticed that some of my laugh lines that were so visible have now started to smooth out. The product also has vitamin B3 and hyaluronic acid to help hydrate your skin, help with your skin’s turnover, remove dead skin cells and correct the wrinkles you see.
Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Wipes
Man for as long as I can remember, I have been using these makeup remover wipes for like forever. The wipes just make my skin feel so clean and bare after removing the makeup. They are absolutely amazing!
These wipes are super soft and pre-moistened to gently clean the skin, remove the makeup, and are very gentle around the eyes. The formula in these wipes have never burnt my eyes before but I wouldn’t advise that you try and make the formula go into your eyes, that’s silly lol.
Lypsyl Lip Balm
I am so stoked that I landed on this lip balm by chance. This balm makes you wanna say Chapstick who? Blistex where? Lol just kidding but no, I really love this brand so much.
It is hands down the absolute best lip balm i’ve ever found. I use it religiously on my lips every night. And in the morning it gives me super smooth, moisturized unchapped lips.
Now the smell is an acquired smell but I like it lol. It’s an original mint type of smell with organic shea butter and coconut oil. Like they say on the package it also provides intense protection and long-lasting moisture you can feel. This one comes with 2 in a pack.
Care Market 24K Gold Under Eye Patches
When you want to give yourself the best spa or self-care day, you have to include these Care Market eye patches. The cooling sensation of these patches make you feel so relaxed and comfortable that you want to place them under your eyes all day.
While using these, I would recommend lying down and face up so that the patches don’t slide off. The patches help to de-puff, hydrate and rejuvenate your eyes and give them a refreshed and bright appearance. They also help to eliminate harmful toxins, hydrate skin and increase blood circulation.

Sally Hansen Dark Hue-Moor Nail Polish
Whichever mood or season I’m in, this has always been my go-to polish. I love the dark intensity of this color. It’s the perfect accessory that goes with absolutely anything and it’s very fashionable and edgy without adding a whole lot to it.
When I put it on, it allows me to have a quiet self-care moment just me and myself to unwind and have a long manicure. Fortunately, I have nothing bad to say about Sally Hansen nail polish. The polish is a strengthening and growth treatment with a chip-resistant base coat and topcoat.
I have a lot of other colors that they provide like ASAP Apple and Pat on the Black. I love the high-quality richness and pigmentations of the color choices that they choose. Also, it doesn’t hurt that the names they choose for the polishes are a real hoot.
Gold Bond Ultimate Healing Skin Therapy Lotion
This lotion helped me so much during the winter season. Whenever I put this on, it supported as a barrier to harsh weather conditions and grueling tasks at the workplace.
The rich lotion is perfect for those who have rough, extra dry skin. It’s packed with seven intensive moisturizers and has vitamins A, C and E. In the lotion, it has a soothing aloe to help nourish and soften the dry skin that’s all over your body.
It also has this calming effect whenever I put it on. The lotion provides 24 hours of moisturization, it’s non-greasy, has a fresh clean scent, and is dermatologist tested, hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic.
Jergens Oil-Infused Enriching Shea Butter Lotion
This lotion is my go-to choice for the summertime. It feels so light and not sticky at all!
It’s a deep conditioning moisturizer that hydrates and improves the skin’s surface to show off a smooth and deeply moisturized skin. It’s also enriched with African shea butter to restore the dull skin back by holding in moisture for a more enhanced sheen and radiant look.
Airwalk Women’s Pom Pom Flurry Moccasins
These shoes are literally heaven-sent. Like I live in these shoes. I used to wear them religiously back in high school and now they have become my driving shoes lol. They are super comfortable and soft.
They make me happy when I put them on and they come in several different colors like cognac, black, grey, and red. I got them in the colors cognac and grey and repurchase these colors often. You know how they say beauty is pain, well, these comfortable shoes are my pleasure.
Thermalon Microwave Activated Moist Heating Pad
Even though it’s a hassle to have to put this pad in the microwave everytime the heat wears off, there is nothing negative for me to say about this product. It provides a lot of heat and warmth for the areas that really need it.
It’s a therapeutic heating pad that is designed to provide a moist heat treatment and help to relieve chronic pain like arthritis, muscle aches, tension and stress. It provides great comfort on days where cramps and tummy aches are unbearable. Another great thing about it is that it is machine washable and you can use it for years!
Aromatherapy Diffuser with 6 Essential Oils Set
My boss owned an aromatherapy diffuser and because of this diffuser, I did not want to leave her office. ever lol! It was one of the best things about coming to work for me. The diffuser was so calming and relaxing. I felt like even though we were in a stressful situation at work, everything would be okay because of that diffuser lol.
The diffuser has 3 working modes: continuous, intermittent and off mode. The continuous mode lasts for 5-6 hours, the intermittent mode lasts up to 9-10 hours. When the water runs out, the diffuser will automatically turn off.
This diffuser also has a cool mist humidifier and comes with 6 essential oils — tea tree oil, lavender, peppermint, lemongrass, eucalyptus, and sweet orange. It also has no additives, fillers, or carriers.
This is the perfect gift for any person, occasion, holiday party or even for you to include on your personal self-care day!

Dove & Aveeno are my favorite! I do buy some pricey skincare but they’re proof that it doesn’t have to be expensive to be good.
Yesss Dove and Aveeno are killing it well in the skincare game for me lately! Thanks for commenting!! xxx

This is a great list! The essential oil diffuser is my favorite 🙂
I just ordered an oil diffuser yesterday and I can’t wait to have one of my own! Thanks for stopping by xxx
This is a great list of self-care products. I personally use the Neutrogena Make-up Remover Cleansing Wipes. I get their new Hydro Boost ones because they are so moisturizing. I am going to try that leave-in conditioner. I have been using the one by Mixed Chicks, but I am finding that it is very drying. Finally, I have never used Aveeno’s facial moisturizer but I do use their lotion and would recommend it. Acerbic is definitely pricey but it is worth it because that 24-hour moisture it claims is true, even when you wash your hands repeatedly. I get the economy size for home and travel-sized ones, too, to carry with me. Thanks for sharing!
Oooh I didnt know they had Hydro boost. I will have to check that out as well! Omg yess the mixed chicks leave-in was not it for me!! I love their deep conditioner but that leave-in needs to be thrown away lol. Aveeno is just bomb all around with their products! Hmm imma have to look into Acerbic too!! Thanks for your comments xxx
All of these products will have us feeling clean, smelling good, and baby soft!
Most definitely!! Thank you for stopping by xxx
I love drugstore products. This was a fabulous list. I’ve used the Creme of Nature Moisture & Shine Shampoo, but I didn’t have such a good experience.
Sameeee!! Drugstore products are the clutch! I’m so sorry the shampoo gave you a sucky experience. Some of their products I find are a hit or a miss for a lot of people. Thanks for stopping by xxx
I love Dove body wash! Thank you for providing detailed reviews on easily affordable products! I’m always looking to try out new products and provide great reviews on Mamaskartmusthaves.com 🙂
Omg that wash is the truth! It makes me excited to get in the shower because it feels so good lol. Thanks for stopping by xxx
Great list! I’ll have to give the undereye patches a try! My under eyes are pretty dark and dull and that area in general feels “tired” and achy most of the time so hopefully these will help rejuvenate them!
Thank you so much!! Yesss do itttt. They make your eyes feel so good after. Lemme know how they work for you! xxx
Dove & Garnier yessss!! A 100 percent must have
I know right!! They are definitely one of my favorites for sure! Thanks for stopping by xxx
